If all you want in a car is a wicked looking, loud sounding ride that is also incredibly cool, the Dodge Charger might just be the car for you.

The Dodge Charger has been around for quite some time now, and every iteration of the car has been made to fit the textbook definition of American muscle.

Dodge engineers were very clear on what they wanted the car to be. At its core, the Charger is a superbly powerful vehicle and its devil may care persona is reflected even in details such as the paint jobs that it is available in, which have names such as White Knuckle, Octane Red, Maximum Steel and Destroyer Grey.

The Charger is loaded in the features department. It comes with projector xenon headlight clusters, active performance exhaust, a dual zone automatic climate control system, 8-way power adjustable sports seats at the front that can be heated or cooled, and an 8.4 inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 10 speaker sound system from BeatsAudio.

Dodge has also kitted the Charger out with features such as voice recognition, an in-built navigation module, heated rear seats, 17 to 20 inch alloys, a sunroof, seats that are upholstered in leather, SiriusXM satellite radio, a heated steering wheel, and suspension settings that can be adjusted by the driver. The higher trim levels also have a 19 speaker sound system by Harman Kardon that can be fitted as a paid extra.

The smallest engine that the Dodge Charger comes with is a 3.6 liter V6 gasoline motor that develops 292 hp. This engine comes mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission as standard. Buyers of certain variants of the Charger can also equip it with a Super Track Pack that boosts the power output to 300 hp.

For real performance, the higher trim levels of the Charger get a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine that pounds out 370 hp. While the largest standard engine available on the Charger is a 6.4 liter V8 that generates 485 hp, Dodge also has on offer the Charger SRT Hellcat, with a monstrous 6.2 liter, 707 hp supercharged HEMI V8 motor under its hood.

Safety

The list of safety equipment on the Dodge Charger comprise of adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, multiple airbags, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, parking assist with a rear view camera, high performance brakes from Brembo, heated wing mirrors, lane departure warning, and traction control, among others.
