Skoda was founded almost 125 years ago in the year 1895 in the city of Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic. The company’s founders initially established the firm under their own names, Laurin & Klement. This new company functioned at the outset as a bicycle manufacturer, and later on began equipping these bicycles with internal combustion engines.
It was only in the year 1905 that the company entered the business of automobile production.
