GMC offers customers of the Terrain SUV three engine options to choose from. The first is a 1.5 liter, turbocharged, 4 cylinder engine that makes 170 hp, and it is paired to a 9 speed automatic gearbox. For those who want a bit more power, there is a larger 1.6 liter, 4 cylinder turbocharged engine that comes connected with a 6 speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers 137 hp.

The most powerful motor in the Terrain’s line-up is the 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder turbocharged unit that pumps out 252 hp and 260 lb. ft. of torque. Power from this engine goes to the wheels through a 9 speed automatic gearbox. To make the car as frugal as possible in terms of fuel consumption, all three trim levels are equipped with an automatic engine start-stop mechanism.

Safety

An optional surround view camera, tyre pressure monitoring, front, side and curtain airbags, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, hill descent control, and electronic stability control are all part of the safety equipment on the GMC Terrain.

You also get a following distance indicator so that you can keep an eye on the cars behind you if they tend to follow you too closely!

Additionally, the vehicle has a teen driver mode that restricts certain parameters of the car to prevent reckless driving.
