The best part about the Accord Hybrid is the fact that it’s so utterly smooth and quiet. It’s so relaxing to drive that in addition to saving the planet, you might also end up extending your own life! Power comes from a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder engine that interestingly works using the Atkinson cycle. Combined with two electric motors driven by a lithium ion battery pack, the combined system sends 212 hp to its wheels via a CVT automatic gearbox.

Great Handler, But Still Very Efficient

Acceleration is quite strong (0-60 mph is done in just 6.9 seconds) and it handles quite deftly as well. In short, the Accord Hybrid performs admirably well in every driving scenario. Everybody knows that hybrids are all about fuel economy, and Honda doesn’t disappoint with the Accord Hybrid: you can get a stellar 49 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highways.

Apart from wishing for a longer full-electric range and a plug-in option, we really don’t have much else to fault the Accord Hybrid. You get a sunroof, satellite navigation, LED headlamps, heated leather seats, rain-sensing wipers, semi-autonomous driver assists called Honda Sensing and the impressive LaneWatch system that makes use of a tiny little camera on the wing mirrors to get rid of those pesky blind spots.
